Hungry Horse says thank you to deserving Macmillan Nurses

As part of its Macmillan May fundraising drive, 300 Hungry Horse pubs are inviting all Macmillan nurses to enjoy free dishes, including sausages & mash and lasagne, from its Pub Faves menu every Sunday throughout May.

May also marks International Nurses’ Day on Friday 12 May, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, so is a special month for nurses around the world.

To claim the meal, Macmillan nurses and professionals simply need to present Macmillan identification when placing an order.

Chris Conchie, Hungry Horse brand controller said: “Macmillan nurses work tirelessly to support people with cancer, and their care makes such a difference in the local community. May is a key month for nurses, both in the UK and internationally, so we decided to mark our Macmillan May fundraising drive and celebrate their hard work.

“We’re proud to support Macmillan and want to reward them, so we hope they take up our offer to enjoy one our Pub Faves dishes on us every Sunday throughout May!”

Since 2012, Greene King team members and guests have raised over £2.9 million through the charity partnership with Macmillan – whether through taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, running the London Marathon, or jumping out of planes.

The free meals for nurses is just one of a number of activities that Hungry Horse pubs will be doing this year to support the charity.

Rachel Gascoigne, partnership manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “Our nurses and other professionals work hard to help people affected by cancer, not just with medical support, but also providing much needed emotional and practical support, so it’s wonderful to see their work recognised on International Nurses’ Day.

“We want to thank everyone at Greene King for their generosity in helping to show our professionals how much their work is appreciated throughout Macmillan May - a month long fundraiser, which will see Greene King pubs across the country coming together to support the charity. This is a truly lovely gesture and a brilliant way to kick off our sixth year as Greene King’s national charity partner.”
